Last night, I was going through my closet searching for something to put on and I had one of those "ugh I have nothing to wear!" moments.  You know the ones....the ones that take you back to your teenage years when you would get mad at your mom because SOMEHOW it was her fault.  Yes, that was the kind of moment I was having.  And yes, I do in fact have plenty of clothes to put on everyday.  Last night, I was just bored of all my clothes.  Then I realized that in the past 2 months....I have not once step foot in a mall, or a clothing store!  I've spent all my time making countless trips to the hardware store instead.  So to turn my little mood around, I decided to do a little "screen shopping" as I like to call it.  I found a few things that I absolutely love!

Let's rewind back to Christmas time....doing a little gift shopping I had to pop in to the local Anthropologie store, obviously.  I fell in love with this super cute ruffle lamp shade.  (Unfortunately the lamp shade is no longer on the website....but here is a similar look!)

 And TA-DA!!!  A super easy lampshade that looks awesome!  This project was a bit time consuming, but I was able to justify watching a couple episodes of Law and Order while I worked...so I was ok with that!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!  Even though in the summer everyday feels like Friday.  I still love Friday's in the summer though, because I get to hang out with this cute guy when he's not at work!

One thing that I find super important is always making sure my information is easily available to the parents of my students.  Some of my families don't have computers or internet access to be able to log on to the school website and find all of my info.  So last year I decided to explore the beauty that is VistaPrint.com.  I tell you what....that little piece of the webernet is quite the gem.

I've been on the hunt for some new bulletin board borders for my classroom.  I didn't want to go out and spend a whole ton of money, but I'm just kind of tired of my "Dots on Chocolate" goodies that I've had for the past couple of years.

I just posted a new item to my TpT store that I'm SUPER excited about sharing!  my vocab word wall cards.  I use my word wall a little bit differently than I used to.  When I taught first grade I used it to display sight words and no-excuse words.  But when I moved on up to 2nd grade I changed my system. Now each of my students has their own personal word wall in their writing folder for no excuse words and sight words and I use my word wall to display vocabulary words that we learn throughout the year.  As we learn them, we write a class definition on the back of the cards and if the students need a refresher, they can head up to the word wall and flip the card over to see what it means.  Works like a charm!  So I've revamped the words I use in 2nd grade to make them a little fancier.  If you want a different color or would like me to add some words, I would be more than happy to!  Just leave me a comment or shoot me an email!
